Reese Witherspoon Set to Star in DEVIL'S KNOT

Variety reports that actress Reese Witherspoon is set to star in the upcoming film DEVIL'S KNOT: THE TRUE STORY OF THE WEST, based on the book by Mara Leveritt. The novel covered the trial of three teenagers accused of murdering three 8 year-old boys. The brutally slain bodies of the three youths were found in a remote wooded area of Memphis known as Robin Hood Hills.

The actress will play the role of Pam Hobbs, the mother of one of the young murder victims. According to the report, no other actors have currently been cast for the project. A recently filmed documentary of the case, Amy Berg's 'West of Memphis' will be debuting at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. The documentary was produced by Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh.
