According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rebecca Romijn has just signed on to join Rob Lowe in NBC's upcoming single-camera comedy pilot THE PRO. The script comes from KING OF THE HILL's Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory.
The project "is set in and around a tennis and golf club pro shop, and stars Lowe as Ben Bertrahm, a former doubles champion who is reunited with his ex-partner Bobby Welch (Rob Riggle) after a public feud that left them both floundering in life.
Romijn will play Margot, a driven but insecure and lovable wealthy one-percenter who is a board member at the prestigious L.A. Tennis & Golf Club who takes lessons from Ben. She lost her husband in a heli-skiing accident when she was pregnant with Nathanial and though she dates, she's never gotten serious about any other man since then, though Ben wouldn't mind breaking that streak."
Romijn, star of the blockbuster hits X-Men, X2, and X3: The Last Stand, was recently seen in the TNT series "King and Maxwell," where she played Michelle Maxwell, a former Secret Service agent who is now a private investigator. Romijn recently starred in the Tyler Perry romantic comedy Good Deeds opposite Tyler and Thandie Newton, and in the Adult Swim comedy "NTSF:SD:SUV." Previously she co-starred for two seasons as Alexis Meade (formerly known as Alex Meade) on the Emmy nominated ABC comedy series "Ugly Betty." Romijn began crossing over to acting from her global success as a fashion model with memorable appearances on the hit television shows "Friends" and "Just Shoot Me," as well as hosting MTV's "House of Style." She later won critical acclaim for her role in Brian De Palma's Femme Fatale, starring opposite Antonio Banderas.
