The multi-talented and dynamic Hispanic television star Raul Gonzalez joins Telemundo to develop and host a new variety series and will contribute to multiple series and specials. The first of such specials he will host will be the prestigious Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm to be broadcast live on Telemundo on April 24th at 7p/6c. A prolific television writer, producer and host, Gonzalez has been named "Best Television Host" by People en Español twice and most recently was co-host of Univision's morning show "Despierta America."

A 36 year veteran of the entertainment industry, Gonzalez began his career in children's theater in his native Caracas. In his early twenties, he hosted a kids' TV show, "Supercropolis," and in 1994 he moved to Miami. In 2001, Gonzalez became one of the hosts of Univision's "Despierta America," where for the next 13 years he was part of the team that led the popular morning show to the leadership position it enjoys today in Spanish language television. He also had the honor to co-host the world's longest running variety show, "Sabado Gigante" on several occasions. Gonzalez has written, produced and starred in several award winning plays such as: "Visa por un Sueño" and "Gordura de mi Vida" to sold out audiences across the country.
