Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews to Lead MSNBC Coverage of State of the Union Address

Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews will lead MSNBC's coverage of President Obama's final STATE OF THE UNION Address and the Republican response on Tuesday, January 12 beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Maddow and Matthews will be joined by Chuck Todd, Andrea Mitchell, and José Díaz-Balart from Washington DC and Chris Hayes, Lawrence O'Donnell, Steve Kornacki, Kasie Hunt and Joy Reid from New York.

Chris Jansing will be live from the White House while Luke Russert and Kelly O'Donnell will bring reactions from Capitol Hill. MSNBC and NBC News will also report live from several campaigns including Kristen Welker who will be with the Clinton campaign, Katy Tur with the Trump campaign, and Hallie Jackson with the Cruz campaign. NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel will be live from Istanbul.

MSNBC will welcome guests and contributors to add insight and analysis including Republican strategist Steve Schmidt, former RNC chairman Michael Steele, Washington Post's Eugene Robinson, Col. Jack Jacobs, Voto Latino President Maria Teresa Kumar and presidential historian Michael Beschloss, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) and more.

MSNBC.com will stream the address and Republican response. At key points throughout the evening, MSNBC viewers will be able to share their reactions to the address by participating in voting opportunities in real time on MSNBC.com. Through the use of Microsoft's Pulse live voting technology, viewers will be able to log on to pulse.msnbc.com to vote on the issues they care about most. @MSNBC on Twitter and Instagram, Facebook.com/MSNBC, and MSNBC on Snapchat will share live updates and behind the scenes extras during the night.
