On the back roads of Appalachia there exists a subculture of car mechanics who are building mind-blowing vehicles that look like something out of another place and time. These mechanical savants cobble together old abandoned car bodies and mash them with parts off of anything and everything to make what is known as a rat rod. On REBEL ROAD, word has spread that the first rumble will be held at an undisclosed location in North Carolina, and the building theme for the first rumble says it all - 'Outlaw'. With only three weeks to build, four teams will make a mad dash to the competition where the winner will walk away with cold hard cash and the most important thing of all - pride. REBEL ROAD premieres on Discovery Channel on Monday, April 28th at 10PM ET/PT.

The rat rod movement emerged after WORLD War II when prewar cars were salvaged from junkyards for a couple of dollars and modified to be street ready - far from the flashy and expensive hot rods we see at car shows today. But deep in Appalachia they still like their rides with a little rust. JR Drake, Ricky Bobby, Rooster McGee and Greg Porter will fish old Model Ts out of creeks, wander on to private property and chop up modern day minivans in order to build the most outlaw rides possible. Their teams work without sleep til their wits end, risking life and fortune, all in the hopes of winning the first rumble and becoming the top dog on legendary Rebel Road.

REBEL ROAD is produced for Discovery Channel by Magilla Entertainment where Matthew Ostrom, Lauren Palumbo Johnson and Brian Flanagan serve as Executive Producers with Noah Danoff and Brian Garton as Co-Executive Producers. For Discovery, Christo Doyle is Executive Producer with Jim Beard as Supervising Producer and Max Micallef as Coordinating Producer.
