"Good Morning America" stood as the morning's No. 1 newscast in Total Viewers (4.396 million) for the week of Feb. 25, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" outdelivered "Today" (4.188 million) by 208,000, substantially increasing its lead week to week (+732%; vs. 25,000 for w/o 2/18/19) to its largest in over 4 months - since w/o 10/1/18.
"GMA" turned in week-to-week gains (4.214 million, 1.231 million and 877,000, respectively, for w/o 2/18/19) in Total Viewers (+4%), Adults 25-54 (+9%) and Adults 18-49 (+9%), hitting 4-week highs across the board - since w/o 1/28/19.
"GMA" improved on the same week last year (4.267 million, 1.334 million and 949,000, respectively, for w/o 2/26/18) in Total Viewers (+3%), Adults 25-54 (+1%) and Adults 18-49 (+1%).
On its post-Oscars® day telecast on Monday (2/25/19), "GMA" improved on the previous year's post-Oscars telecast (3/5/18) in Total Viewers (+2% - 4.912 million vs. 4.801 million) and Adults 25-54 (+1% - 1.508 million vs. 1.494 million). "GMA" turned in its strongest telecast in 14 months in Total Viewers and in 11 months in Adults 25-54 - since 10/2/17 and 3/21/18, respectively.
In addition, "GMA" ranked No. 1 on Monday in all key target demos, leading NBC's "Today" in Total Viewers (+738,000 - 4.912 million vs. 4.174 million), Adults 25-54 (+87,000 - 1.508 million vs. 1.421 million) and Adults 18-49 (+5,000 - 1.026 million vs. 1.021 million).
"GMA" slashed its week-to-week margins (w/o 2/18/19) with "Today" by more than half in Adults 25-54 (-58% - 90,000 vs. 214,000) and Adults 18-49 (-59% - 60,000 vs. 147,000).
"GMA" narrowed its margins year to year (w/o 2/26/18) with "Today" in Adults 25-54 (-47% - 90,000 vs. 170,000) and Adults 18-49 (-50% - 60,000 vs. 119,000).
Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers for the 7th straight year after finishing as the No. 1 morning newscast for the last 6 seasons. In addition, "GMA" is cutting its season margin with "Today" in both Adults 25-54 (-16% - 161,000 vs. 191,000) and Adults 18-49 (-57% - 89,000 vs. 208,000), posting to its closest Adults 18-49 performance in 4 years - since the 2014-2015 season.
During the week, "GMA" defeated "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+1.262 million), Adults 25-54 (+510,000) and Adults 18-49 (+393,000).
