QUARRIES Feature Film to World Premiere at Famed Horror Film Festival Screamfest

QUARRIES, the full-length feature film from the producer of Final Destination and American Pie, today announced it has been accepted into two notable film festivals where it will be premiered. The world premiere will take place at the industry's most notable horror film festival, Screamfest, on Wednesday, October 26 at 9:30 p.m at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. The East Coast premiere will follow on Sunday, November 13 at 3:00p.m. at Cinepolis Chelsea in New York City, as part of the NYC Horror Film Festival.

QUARRIES is a female-driven horror/thriller, executive produced by Diamond Cutter Films and directed by Nils Taylor, who is also the film's writer and producer along with Nicole Marie Johnson. Johnson plays the lead alongside Leisha Hailey (best known for her work on The L Word and Bosch, Sara Mornell from WICKED CITY and Judging Amy), Carrie Finklea and Nicole DuPort.

The film follows a group of women on a hiking expedition that ventures into the uncharted wilderness and they are met with tragedy when a group of hunters selects them as prey. In an attempt to escape her abusive boyfriend, Kat joins a wilderness expedition with a group of women, all of whom are struggling with the uncertainty of life. Group leader, Jean, offers the girls a quote prior to their expedition: "The jungle is neutral, it builds on what you bring it. If you're weak, it will break you." The indifference of our environment reveals an individual's flaws and challenges their search for deep and personal change. What was supposed to be an opportunity for personal discovery quickly becomes a fight for survival, forcing each person to uncover the strength even they did not know they possessed. While being stalked and brazenly chased by a pack of predators, the strong quickly set themselves apart from the weak. In a battle of will, stamina, and heart, the very virtues these women are in search of present themselves at the most crucial moment. With death looming, each woman is left with the understanding of what is truly important - the strength within themselves.

Often referred to as the "Sundance of Horror," Screamfest runs from October 18-27, with QUARRIES one of only 14 feature films being screened at the festival. Tickets may be purchased at https://screamfestla.com. At the NYC Horror Film Festival, being held November 10-13, QUARRIES will be one of only 15 feature films screening at the festival. The film was also invited to be screened at the 8th Annual Lady Filmmakers Festival being held in October in Los Angeles, but was unable to accept the invitation. Additionally, QUARRIES is awaiting notification from several other film festivals being held throughout the fall season.
