Psycho-Sexual Drama PAUL VERHOVEN'S TRICKED to Open in NY Today

Kino Lorber is proud to announce the theatrical and day and date release of Paul Verhoeven's Tricked, now slated for Friday, February 26 at both New York's Cinema Village and exclusively, on leading SVOD provider Fandor. This is will mark another of Fandor's partnership with Kino Lorber and other superb studios to bring first-run films to stream Online simultaneously.

An official selection at the Tribeca and ROME film festivals, the latest work (and boldest experiment yet) by Dutch filmmaker Paul Vehoeven (Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Black Book) was made together with hundreds of collaborators. The result is a uniquely cinematic experience that both feels like a quintessential Paul Verhoeven film and raises questions about issues of authorship and collaboration in filmmaking.

Incorporating crowdsourced suggestions on the script, music score, graphics and even elements of the set design, Paul Verhoeven's Tricked is a two-part experience that starts with an examining of behind the scenes process. Through interviews, pre-production meetings and public events taking place during the nine months of production, audiences can take a peek at this unique movie making process.

The film's second part presents the finished product: a drama of lies and BETRAYAL that's as compelling and provocative as anything Mr. Verhoeven has done before.

The story centers on real estate tycoon and womanizer Remco (Peter Blok - Black Book). During his 50th birthday party thrown by his wife Ineke (Ricky Koole - Sonny Boy), his successful and frivolous lifestyle takes a turn for the worse. While two of his business partners, Wim and Fred, are scheming behind his back to sell him out, both his current mistress Merel and his former office-fling Nadja, show up uninvited - with one of them pregnant.
