Production has officially wrapped in Alabama on the coming-of-age teen comedy "This is the Year" starring breakout actor Lorenzo Henrie ("Fear the Walking Dead") and Gregg Sulkin (Marvel's "Runaways," "Faking It"). David Henrie ("Wizards of Waverly Place," "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2") is directing the film and wrote the screenplay with Bug Hall, Pepe Portillo and Sienna Aquilinni.
In a last-ditch effort to win over the girl of his dreams, Zoey, played by Alyssa Jirrels ("Mech-X4"), a nerdy high school senior and his best friends embark on a road trip to attend the greatest music festival of the year, only to discover true love in the most unexpected place.
Rounding out the cast alongside Lorenzo Henrie and Sulkin are Vanessa Marano ("Switched at Birth"), Bug Hall ("The Little Rascals"), Jake Short ("A.N.T. Farm") and David Henrie.
Andrea Iervolino is producing the film through both his film label AMBI Media Group, with partner Monika Bacardi, as well as through TaTaTu, the new blockchain-based social entertainment platform founded by Iervolino. James Henrie and Leo Severino are producing for Novo Media Group. Executive producers are Jason Weinberg, Luca Riemma and Luca Matrundola. AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of AMBI Media Group, will handle global sales on the film.
Said Andrea Iervolino, "I've wanted to collaborate with David for some time now, and it's been a great experience building a story we love, with this incredible ensemble cast. We can't wait for audiences to experience this film."
