Lifetime starts production today on the original movie THE 10TH DATE, following four friends at different life stages in their search for love. The two-hour romantic comedy stars Meagan Good (Think Like a Man Too), Grammy (R) Award winner Kelly Rowland (Empire), Grammy nominee Keri Hilson (So You Think You Can Dance), Kellee Stewart (The Soul Man), Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman (UnREAL) with Emmy (R) nominee, Cat Deeley (So You Think You Can Dance) and Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder). Filming through mid October in Los Angeles, The 10th Date will premiere in 2017 on Lifetime.
The 10th Date follows friends Gabby (Good), Nell (Stewart), Billie (Hilson) and Margot (Rowland) who balance their dating adventures alongside their career ambitions at an upscale website in Los Angeles, under the watchful eye of their editor, Maureen (Deeley). Inspired by the site's relationship advice column to find "the one," Gabby and Nell embark on their own journeys towards the elusive "10th date, "the Holy Grail in the dating world when women believe men are finally committed. Meanwhile, Billie finds herself at a major crossroads in her marriage and Margot unsuccessfully tries to fight her growing attraction to a famously controversial reggae musician she is assigned to interview. As the ladies navigate the ups and downs of modern dating, romance, exes and friendships, they learn what they really want out of life and love. Jackson stars as Dante, a creative director at the site and Bowyer-Chapman is Freddy, Nell's bisexual boyfriend.
Wendy Finerman (Forest Gump, The Devil Wears Prada) Lisa Zupan (Drumline: A New Beat) and Nzingha Stewart (With This Ring) are executive producers. Stewart also wrote and will direct the film. Lina Wong (Whitney) and Kyle Clark (The Craigslist Killer) are producers. The 10th Date is produced by SilverScreen Pictures Inc. for Lifetime. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for The 10th Date.
