While the U.S. Olympic team was capturing gold medals, Travel Channel was sweeping its ratings with a 43 percent increase among viewers P25-54 on Tuesday night versus its year-ago levels. Propelled by the 9 p.m. ET/PT series premiere of ANDREW ZIMMERN'S DRIVEN BY FOOD which showcased the local sights and flavors of Rio de Janeiro, Travel Channel's Tuesday prime attracted more than 1.4 million total viewers. The Rio premiere generated ratings that were 53 percent above year-ago timeslot levels.
"Andrew Zimmern's Driven By Food" turns to neighborhood cab drivers - whether it's a taxi driver in the South or a gondolier in Venice - for an insider's adventure to find off-the-grid dives, regional eats and local activities.
