Deadline.com reports that Portia De Rossi has been cast in the role of Lily Munster in NBC's upcoming 'Munsters' reboot MOCKINGBIRD LANE. The actress replaces Mariana Klaveno who had previously been cast in the role.

MOCKINGBIRD LANE is written by Bryan Fuller and will be directed by Bryan Singer. It is described as "a reinvention of the 1960s sitcom about The Munsters, a family of “monsters” — vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein, and their “plain” cousin (Charity Wakefield) — that will feature striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies."

Previously announced cast members include Jerry O’Connell, as family patriarch Herman Munster, and Mason Cook, who will portray the Munster's ten year old son, Eddie. Eddie Izzard will take on the role of Grandpa. Yvonne De Carlo portrayed the original Lily in the NBC series.

De Rossi has appeared on TV in Arrested Development and Better Off Ted. Her earlier TV credits include Ally McBeal and Nip/Tuck.
