Indiana-based production company Pigasus Pictures is thrilled to announce the world premiere of their feature film "Ms. White Light" at the 2019 South by Southwest®(SXSW®) Festival on March 11, 2019. The film, competing in SXSW's Narrative Feature category, marks the first film of a six-picture slate to be produced locally in Indiana by Pigasus Pictures.
"Pigasus Pictures is dedicated to providing a platform for the next generation of filmmakers who may not have the financial means or resources to participate in the filmmaking communities of Hollywood or New York," said Pigasus Pictures CEO Zachary Spicer. The Indiana-born producer and star of "Ms. White Light" continued, "'Ms. White Light' embodies the Pigasus mission to bring big-industry access to small-town Indiana to showcase the high level of professional talent that the Midwest has to offer."
Part of Pigasus's efforts to cultivate local talent includes a statewide short film writing competition for high school students, the winner of which gets their script produced by the Pigasus Pictures team.
Premiering March 11th at the Stateside Theatre, the cast of "Ms. White Light" includes: Emmy Award ® winner Judith Light as Val; Roberta Colindrez ("Fun Home") as Lex; Carson Meyer ("A Million Little Pieces") as Nora; John Ortiz ("Silver Linings Playbook") as Gary; and Zachary Spicer ("The Good Catholic") as Spencer.
