Photo: Telemundo Presents 'Innovation Award' to Pope Francis' Education Initiative

Telemundo presented the "Telemundo Innovation Award" to 'Scholas Occurrentes,' Pope Francis' initiative to connect, educate and inspire adolescents. The award presentation took place during a Scholas Occurrentes event attended by Pope Francis today at the Vatican.

The award, granted by NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and Hispanicize 2016, the largest annual event for Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in journalism, blogging, marketing, entertainment and tech entrepreneurship, honors an individual innovator whose work has explored new trends, showcased pioneering spirit and greatly impacted society.

Pope Francis was selected for his innovative work with the Scholas Occurrentes Foundation, connecting technology with arts and sports programs in order to promote social integration in over 190 countries.
