FAME cast members hit the red carpet for the advanced screening of the new version of the Oscar-winning hit at Paris Las Vegas on September 24, 2009. A remake of the 1980 original hit film FAME swings into theaters September 25. Like the original film, this interpretation will follow a talented and tenacious group of dancers, singers, actors, and artists over four years at the New York City High School of Performing Arts.

The cast includes Asher Book as Marco, Kristy Flores as Rosie, Paul Iacono as Neil, Paul McGillas Kevin, Naturi Naughton as Denise, Kay Panabaker as Jenny, Kherington Payne as Alice, Collins Pennie as Malik, Walter Perez as Victor, and Anna Maria Perez de Tagle as Joy. Their instructors include Charles S. Dutton as Alvin Dowd, Kelsey Grammer as Joel Cranston, Megan Mullally as Fran Rowan, and Bebe Neuwirth as Lynn Kraft. Debbie Allen, who played tough dance teacher Lydia Grant in 1980, returns to the cast.
FAME is a 1980 American musical film conceived and produced by David De Silva, directed byAlan Parker, and written by Christopher Gore.
The film has spawned a television series and spin-off and a stage musical. The score of the film won the Academy Award for Best Original Score and the Academy Award for Best Original Song - "Fame" sung by Irene Cara. The movie was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for Irene Cara and nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score (Michael Gore). It also garnered various BAFTA nominations, and a win for Best Sound.
