According to a Lionsgate executive who has chosen to remain anonymous, Philip Seymour Hoffman, who was found dead in his New York apartment on Sunday of an apparent drug overdose, still had "one major, emotional scene left to film for THE HUNGER GAMES Mockingjay Part 2.
With the exception of seven days of shooting, the actor had finished filming the majority of his scenes for the franchise's finale in his role as rebel leader Plutarch Heavensbee.
"We're all extraordinarily sad," the Lionsgate executive told The Hollywood Reporter exclusively. "But as it relates to production, it's going to have no impact. Obviously, we're going to have a couple of work-around issues but the movie will be creatively whole. His performances in both [remaining] movies will be up to the best of his craft. We feel it will be a good tribute to him." With the exception of the unidentified still-to-be shot scene, production on the "Hunger Games" finale will move ahead as planned with no further changes required. "Mockingjay - Part 1" is scheduled to hit theaters this November, while Mockingjay - Part 2" is set to be released in November 2015.Read the story in full here
