Well-known TV personality Penelope Menchaca returns to Telemundo as host of "Suelta La Sopa Extra" on Sunday nights following "Top Chef Estrellas," the culinary competition that premiered last week, and soon, "La Voz Kids." Penelope Menchaca is one of Spanish-language television's most recognizable and beloved personalities, best known for her popular show "12 Corazones" on Telemundo and spinoff for the Mexican market, "12 Corazones Mexicanos," on Televisa. Penelope began her career at the age of 14 as a dancer in Mexico's National Ballet, and at 19, she became the lead singer of the girl band "Las Nenas." In 1999, she hosted the LA local entertainment show "Los Angeles en Vivo," where she interviewed prominent Hispanic celebrities such as Chayanne, John Leguizamo, Lupillo Rivera and Jenny Rivera. In 2009, she hosted the Telemundo, Televisa and Promofilm coproduction "12 Corazones Rumbo al Altar." She went on to co-host Televisa's "TV Millones," a live Primetime game show that aired every Saturday for more than a year, and in 2012 she served on the judges' panel of the impersonation Contest "Yo Me Llamo." Over the years, Penelope has participated in many Telemundo specials, including "Noche de Póker," Miss Universe and Billboard Latin Music Awards.Videos
