Hallmark CHANNEL announces Teri Polo and Daytime Emmy® winner Paul Johansson are in production on Last Resort, a Hallmark CHANNEL Original Movie World Premiere June 2015, part of the network's June Weddings Month. LAST RESORT is filming in Victoria, B.C. and co-stars Chloe Babcook (The Christmas Secret, Gracepoint), Lini Evans (Bates Motel), Malcolm Stewart (Jumanji) and Christopher Russell (Girlfriends' Guide To Divorce). The film follows a couple, played by Polo and Johansson, on the brink of divorce, only to take an unexpected journey when they work together on planning and preparing their daughter's upcoming nuptials.
"Last Resort is a highlight of the programing strategy for the network's first-ever June Weddings Month," said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President of Programming and Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. "With the success of Countdown to Christmas, we hope to bring the passion and romance of the wedding season to our viewers this June."
Chloe (Polo) and David Baker (Johansson) used to be the definition of a perfect couple, but 25 years into their marriage, they are more like roommates than loving partners. Just when they decide divorce is inevitable, their daughter Amanda (Babcook) returns home to announce she's engaged. Amanda, who has always looked up to her parents' relationship as the ideal marriage, has decided to wed at the scenic Maine resort where they once happily vacationed as a family. Seeing Amanda's excitement, Chloe and David agree to keep their divorce under wraps until after her nuptials, but when they return to the resort, faking their happiness is harder than it seems. As they help their daughter plan her dream wedding, Chloe and David can't help but reminisce on loving memories made together, and wonder if they're making a mistake. But when the secret about their divorce accidentally comes out, they risk shattering Amanda's own shot at wedded bliss, before discovering the imperfectly perfect truth about a love that lasts a lifetime.
Last Resort is a Resort Road Production and a Front Street Pictures production. Executive Producers are Gerald W. Abrams and Allen Lewis. Harvey Kahn is Producer. Michael M. Scott directs from a script by Tracy Rosen.
