Deadline reports that Patricia Arquette will join the cast of HBO's Boardwalk Empire when the drama returns for its fourth season. She will appear in a recurring story arc opposite series star Steve Buscemi.
According to the report, Arquette will take on the role of Sally Wheet, described as "a tough-as-nails Tampa speakeasy owner with connections to local gangsters." The upcoming season is currently in production and will premiere on the cable network later this year.
Following her first major film role in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Arquette has appeared in films such as True Romance, Ed Wood, Flirting with Disaster, Lost Highway, Stigmata and Holes.
She played the lead character in the Supernatural drama series Medium for which she received three Golden Globe nominations and two Emmy Award nominations, winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2005.
