According to TVGuide, Psych creator Steve Franks and Weezer singer-songwriter Rivers Cuomo have joined forces on DETOUR, a FOX comedy pilot based on Cuomo's life.

DETOUR is "a coming-of-age story" that "centers on a 30-something rock star who has trouble coming to terms with his success and subsequently walks away from the spotlight at the height of his fame so that he can rediscover the moments of his life he missed while he was busy skyrocketing up the charts."
Eight years ago, Cuomo took a long hiatus from Weezer to go to Harvard University, where he ended up meeting his wife, Kyoko Ito.
The frontman formed Weezer in 1992. Also currently in the band are Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards) and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals). Weezer has released eight studio albums; their ninth -- "Everything Will Be Alright in the End" -- will be out on October 7 this year.
