PSY Announces 'Gangnam Style' Follow-Up Single

The New York Post reports that South Korean rap artist PSY, whose viral video 'Gangnam Style' swept the country in recent months, has announced that he will release a follow up single next month. The singer will celebrate the new song with a huge concert, set to take place in Seoul.

PSY unveiled the news of the highly anticipated follow up today on YouTube, where his "Gangnam Style" video currently has a record-breaking 1.39 billion views.

The song will be released on April 13 and will coincide with a concert he calls, "Happening." The event will be broadcast live on YouTube.

The rapper, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, is known in Korea for his humorous videos and stage performances. His hit single "Gangnam Style" includes the refrain "Oppan Gangnam Style" (translated as "Big brother is Gangnam style", with Psy referring to himself)

In December 2012, MTV noted Psy's rise from little-known to "global superstar", and, for being first in the YouTube-era to secure a place in pop culture history, hailed the singer as the "Viral Star of 2012". On December 31, 2012, Psy performed in a globally televised New Year's Eve celebration with American rap-artist MC Hammer on-stage in front of a live audience of over 1 million people in Times Square, New York City.
