USA Network's miniseries POLITICAL ANIMALS received five Primetime Emmy nominations from the Academy of Television Arts & Science for the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, including nominations for Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, and recognition for Sigourney Weaver in Lead Actress in a Miniseries and Ellen Burstyn in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries. Primetime Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in national Primetime programming, awarding top honors at the annual creative arts gala and Primetime awards telecast.

"USA is truly honored to see the tremendous accomplishments of Greg, Laurence, Sigourney, Ellen and the entire cast and crew from POLITICAL ANIMALS recognized by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences," said USA Network Co-Presidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber. "This is a miniseries of which we are particularly proud -- with exceptional writing, superb creative execution and stellar performances."

One of USA's most honored miniseries, POLITICAL ANIMALS was also nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Writers Guild Award and a Directors Guild Award.
From Executive Producer, Writer and Director Greg Berlanti and Executive Producer Laurence Mark, USA's critically acclaimed miniseries POLITICAL ANIMALS pulls back the curtain on the polished façade of politics to reveal a fractured family. Despite intense public scrutiny, this dynasty can't escape the magnetic pull of the high stakes world of sex, greed and politics.

The miniseries stars Sigourney Weaver, Carla Gugino, James Wolk, Sebastian Stan, Brittany Ishibashi, Ellen Burstyn and Ciarán Hinds and is from Berlanti Productions and Laurence Mark Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television.
