Broadcast and streamed for the first time, AARP The Magazine's 17th Annual Movies for Grownups® Awards celebrates 2017's standout films with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind and recognizes the inspiring artists who make them. Co-produced by THIRTEEN's GREAT PERFORMANCES series, MOVIES FOR GROWNUPS AWARDS with AARP the Magazine premieres nationwide Friday, February 23 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings), pbs.org/gperf and PBS apps.

"The MOVIES FOR GROWNUPS AWARDS is an exciting new way for GREAT PERFORMANCES to recognize outstanding achievement in the performing arts," said executive producer David Horn. "Adding contemporary cinema is a natural fit for the series and we are happy to share this exceptional talent with viewers on all PBS platforms."

The awards were taped live on February 5 at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills, California, with host Alan Cumming performing musical parodies of "Get Out," "Lady Bird," "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," "The Shape of Water" and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri." "This is a wonderful collaboration with GREAT PERFORMANCES to further honor extraordinary movies and filmmakers that connect with a powerful 50-plus audience."
