US Weekly reports that Dave Madden, best known as fictional Partridge Family manager Reuben Kincaid on the 1970's sitcom, died yesterday, January 16th at the age of 82. The actor's former agent told TMZ that Madden died of "congestive heart and kidney failure" in Florida.

The Partrige Family centered on a widowed mother (Shirley Jones) and her five children who embark on a music career. The series ran from September 25, 1970, until March 23, 1974, on the ABC network as part of a Friday-night lineup, and had subsequent runs in syndication.

Series star Danny Bonaduce took to Twitter yesterday to share his grief over the loss of his co-star, posting: "Dave Madden was a great guy & like family to me. He taught me to drive a car when I was 10. One of many great memories. I'll truly miss him."

Shirley Jones, who portrayed the widowed mother and head of the band on the series told Yahoo.com, "Dave was a great person and was one of the reasons 'The Partridge Family' worked so well. He will certainly be missed."

In addition to his role as Kincaid, Madden's other TV credits included "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In," and "Alice."
