Oxygen Media moves in with Nikki Alexander and her big MODERN FAMILY in the back-to-back series premiere of "It Takes a Sister" airing Tuesday, August 4 at 9 pm ET/PT. From 495 Productions ("Party Down South" and "Tattoos After Dark,") and Executive Producers SallyAnn Salsano and Joel Zimmer, the comedic docu-series follows Nikki who lives under one roof with her four younger sisters, her eight nieces and nephews, three dogs and one of her sister's exes who is also her assistant. With never a shortage of shoulders to cry on or laughs to share, these sisters have an unparalleled bond and are ready to embark on a fresh start down south in Knoxville, Tennessee. Beginning Tuesday, August 11, the half-hour series will move into its regular time of 9:30 pm. For a sneak peek, click here: http://www.oxygen.com/it-takes-a-sister/videos/playlist?clip=2876580

"Each ready for a new beginning, these five sisters know they are better together than they are apart," said Rod Aissa, Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media. "Our young millennial audience will relate to Alexander sisters as they lean on each other as aunts, single mothers, sisters and friends, in order to raise their village and pursue their dreams."

In the premiere episode, "A Storm is a Brewin'," emotions run high when youngest sister Meagan, the black sheep of the family, decides to move in causing a rift between the sisters. Meanwhile, Nikki is contacted by her famous ex and struggles to move on. In the following episode, "Cash for Break Ups," to help gain closure on their past relationships, the sisters sell off their ex's belongings at a yard sale, but Nikki opens old wounds in the process. Then, Nikki cracks under the pressure of putting on her first fashion show, resulting in an explosive blowout with her sisters.

Meet the Sisters:

Nikki Alexander - 32 years old @TheRealHoopz

As the oldest of the Alexander sisters, Nikki is known as the "Mama Bear" of the family and is the glue that holds her sisters together. After being in the public eye for many years, Nikki fell in love with Knoxville and decided to uproot her life and pursue her dream of opening her own clothing boutique. Nikki has brought her sisters along for THE RIDE and with everyone under her roof, it's up to her to keep the peace.

Jenni Alexander - 31 years old

Kids: Adonis, Jaiden & Justin ("Bubba")

The second oldest in the family, Jenni prides herself on being the structured and responsible sister. Inherently stubborn, Jenni doesn't like to listen to other people and thinks she's always right. A massage therapist by trade, Jenni recently moved from Michigan to Tennessee to start a new business and provide her three children with a better life.

Erika Alexander - 30 years old @erika_maria33

Kids: Zaira & Nathyn

Erika is extremely protective over her big sister and feels the other siblings can take advantage of her generosity. After a bad break-up, she retreated to Knoxville with her two kids in tow to get her life back on track and help Nikki out with the store. But when times get tense between the ladies, Erika always steps in as the resident jokester.

Kortnee Alexander - 27 years old @Kortnee_A

Kids: Jelaiyah & Giulianna

The rebellious spitfire sister, Kortnee dances to the beat of her own drum and is always the life of the party. Trying to pick up the pieces after a painful break-up, she moved from Florida with her two kids to Nikki's house in Knoxville. Kortnee is very loyal to Nikki and helps out at her boutique in any way possible.

Meagan Alexander - 25 years old @MeaganA89

Kid: Dre

Considered the baby and black sheep of the family, Meagan is currently studying to be a nurse and works three jobs to support her son, Lil' Dre. She moves down to Knoxville in hopes that living together will help repair her strained relationship with her sisters. Adding to the chaos is her baby's father and former boyfriend, Dre, who works as Nikki's personal assistant and also lives in the house.

"It Takes a Sister" is produced by 495 Productions Inc. with SallyAnn Salsano and Joel Zimmer serving as Executive Producers and in association with New Wave Entertainment LLC with Brian Volk Weiss and Mark Rousso serving as Executive Producers.
