"'In Ice Cold Blood' is a chilling depiction of basic human desires unbridled, taking viewers on a shocking, UNEXPECTED ride," says Rod Aissa, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Development, Oxygen Media. "Ice-T's appreciation for the true crime space, and his ability to draw the viewer in, take the series to another level."
Executive Producer Ice-T adds, "I'm glad to call Oxygen home with a series that speaks to me as a true crime fan. Each story is extreme but very real, making it a natural fit for me to explore with the audience."
When two of the most basic human desires - sex and money - cloud our judgment with lust and greed, they run the risk of dangerous consequences. This series exposes real-life cases where unhinged passion and extreme greed have motivated someone enough to kill. As first-hand detectives and victims' friends and family members recount each case, captivating recreations come together to bring each ruthless murder story to life. In the series premiere, a military veteran is missing and a young student is murdered in what appears to be a crime of passion. But the discovery of a secret payout leads police on a wild chase. Ice-T lends his distinct voice to the series, guiding viewers through each case in a way that only he can.
Ice-T is a cultural icon whose artistry spans across music, film and television. Having formed Rhyme Syndicate Records in 1989, he released a string of groundbreaking West Coast rap records that eventually led to his forming the thrash metal band "Body Count." The group's controversial, politically-conscious music received critical acclaim and garnered a 2018 Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance. A mainstay on the small screen with his role as Detective Odafin Tutuola on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for his 19th season, Ice-T has also lent his talents to directing and producing. He has written three books throughout his career, and has taken his life experiences on lecture tours across America's prisons and schools.
"In Ice Cold Blood" is produced by Asylum Entertainment with Steven Michaels, Jonathan Koch and Brian Knappmiller serving as Executive Producers, along with Final Level Entertainment with Ice-T and Jorge Hinojosa serving as Executive Producers.
