For the fifth time in six weeks, CBS SUNDAY MORNING delivered more than 6 million viewers, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Dec. 18.
The nation's #1 Sunday morning news broadcast delivered 6.33 million viewers and a 1.2/06 with adults 25-54, the demographic most desired by those who advertise in news. Compared to the same day last year,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +15% in viewers (from 5.52m) and even in adults 25-54. It was also
CBS SUNDAY MORNING's best audience delivery since April 2016.
Television year-to-date,
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +8% in viewers (6.03m from 5.59m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.2/07) compared to last year.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING is the #1 Sunday morning news program in these measures.
Jane Pauley anchored Sunday's broadcast, which led with a cover story on the boom in "fake news" reported by senior contributor Ted Koppel. Sunday's broadcast also featured Tracy Smith's interview with actress Nicole Kidman; Nancy Giles segment with Alton DuLaney, one of the country's most famous holiday gift wrappers; Pauley's behind-the-scenes report on a choir in Columbus, Ohio, known for bringing a diverse group of singers together; Anthony Mason's profile of guitarist Robbie Robertson from The Band; Rita Braver's interview with the best-selling author of The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho; and Steve Hartman's report on a "secret Santa" providing police officers with cash to give to needy residents.
