"Wish You Well," the movie based on author David Baldacci's bestselling novel of the same title, will be celebrated with special screenings on October 17 and 19 in Blacksburg, Virginia, near where it was filmed.

Set in the 1940s, the coming-of-age story is about a young girl who moves from New York with her younger brother to live with their great-grandmother on a Virginia farm. The film was directed by Darnell Martin ("Cadillac Records"). It stars Academy Award-winning actress Ellen Burstyn ("Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore," "The Exorcist"), Josh Lucas ("Sweet Home Alabama"), Mackenzie Foy ("The Twilight Saga," "The Conjuring"), Ned Bellamy ("Under the Dome," "Being John Malkovich"), Laura Fraser ("Breaking Bad"), Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick ("Moonrise Kingdom"), Alano Miller, Antonio Ducrot and introduces Virginia native JP Vanderloo.

"We are very proud of this film," said producer Sara Elizabeth Timmins, of Life Out Loud Films, which co-produced the movie with Baldacci Entertainment and Copper Beech Productions. "So many people throughout Giles County supported us during the production. This celebration is our way of saying thanks."

The community event on Friday, hosted by Giles County, will include two screenings at the historic Lyric Theatre and an after-party featuring appearances by the filmmakers, author David Baldacci and cast members Alano Miller, Ned Bellamy, JP Vanderloo, Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, Antonio Ducrot and others. There will also be a performance by country singer/songwriter and Virginia native Kaitlyn Baker, whose forthcoming album will be released through Sony/RED. Her new single "Burn" is being played by a growing number of radio stations.

"It's great that more and more movies are being filmed in my home state," Baker said. "'Wish You Well' is a great novel, and I'm honored to be helping Giles County celebrate the movie. I can't wait to see it."

Entertainment will also be provided by singer/songwriter Cody Atkins, cellist Chloe Benner and bluegrass musician Stewart Scales.

Two additional screenings are scheduled for Sunday, October 19.
