The award-winning stoner short film, RECALCULATING is an official selection of the 2016 Chicago Comedy Film Festival, screening Saturday, Nov. 12th, 7:30pm at the New 400 Theatre, Chicago. Recalculating stars Academy Award-winner, Cloris Leachman, an alumna of Northwestern University who represented Chicago in the 1946 MISS AMERICA pageant, Zack Pearlman (Shameless, The Intern), Peter Gilroy, (XOXO, The Masterpiece), and Brina Palencia (Walking Dead, Borderlands).

Written by Diane Fredel-Weis and Jodi Miller and directed by Fredel-Weis, the short film follows two stoner buddies on their way to a party when their GPS gets a contact high and malfunctions.

This marks Fredel-Weis' film directing debut. She credits another Chicagoan, director John Landis (Blues Brothers, Animal House), for encouraging her to direct and for his support through production.

Revek Entertainment (Sundance-winning short, Whiplash, the Tribes of Palos Verdes) produced the film in association with Fredel-Weis' company, Laugh More Entertainment.

"I feel so fortunate to have had so many talented people involved in this project including the amazing cast," says Fredel-Weis. "It's been a wild ride and we are thrilled to be screening at the Chicago Comedy Film Fest."

Fredel-Weis is a former Disney creative marketing executive and the screenwriter of the feature film, "Inconceivable," that aired on Showtime. She is also a former partner of the international design and media company, Bob Weis Design Island Assoc.

Recalculating has screened at the Portland Film Festival, L.A. Comedy Film Festival, Savannah Film Festival, Ft. Lauderdale Int'l Film Festival and NYC Cannabis Film Festival where Fredel-Weis won Best Director and Best Short Film.
