Oscar Winner Alan Menken Co-Scores Music for Summer Comedy SAUSAGE PARTY

Eight-time Academy Award winning composer Alan Menken (Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast) and Emmy-nominated composer Christopher Lennertz (Supernatural, Horrible Bosses) co-score Sony Entertainment's SAUSAGE PARTY. Alan Menken also wrote an original song, entitled, "The Great Beyond" with his frequent collaborator Glenn Slater. Sausage Party, directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, follows the story of a sausage (voice of Seth Rogen) and his other supermarket friends discovering the real truth to their existence upon leaving the grocery store. The film is the first ever R-rated CG animated comedy to be released, and is set to hit theatres August 12th.

Both Menken and Slater are currently Emmy nominated for their song "A New Season" from ABC's, Galavant. If Alan Menken wins an Emmy, then he would become a member of the elite group who have achieved, the E.G.O.T.! Christopher Lennertz developed a working relationship with Menken because Lennertz scored the weekly comedy Galavant.

For the score of SAUSAGE PARTY, Alan Menken and Christopher Lennertz recorded with a full orchestra and choir at the world renowned Abbey Road Studios in London. The huge, lush score is reminiscent of a Disney classic. The film features A-list comedic talent including Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, James Franco, and Paul Rudd.

Composer Christopher Lennertz has scored numerous films, TV and videogame His collaborations include an original song he co-wrote with Tony-winner David Zippel for ABC's Agent Carter. His other collaborations include Dave Grusin, RZA, members of Pearl Jam, Jane's Addiction and Dave Matthews Band. His groundbreaking collaboration with Ozomatli on their record "Street Signs" garnered a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock Album.
