Oscar-nominee and BIG C star Gabourey Sidibe is heading to AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN.
Series creator Ryan Murphy announced today via twitter that she would be joining the cast for the third season, which will be partially set in New Orleans and feature witches.
Murphy tweeted: "Thrilled to announce Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is joining the cast of 'American Horror Story: Coven."
The upcoming season will also feature multiple locales, Murphy revealed in March.
"It's about a lot of things," Murphy said. "It's a really cool story that we've been talking about for a couple of years actually, and this seemed the year to do it."
Legendary actress, Kathy Bates, has also signed a deal to appear on AHS: COVEN. Her character, as Murphy describes, is "a bad, bad woman...five times worse than [her] Misery character - which is why she liked it."
As of now, a premiere date for AHS: COVEN has not been set by FX - but BWW TV will keep you updated as the latest outing of Murphy's frightfest shapes up.
On THE BIG C, Sidibe portrayed a close friend and confidente to Laura Linney's Cathy.
Sidibe received an Oscar nomination for her role in the film 'Precious'. She was most recently seen on the big screen in 'Tower Heist' co-starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller. She will next appear in 'Seven Psychopaths' opposite Woody Harrelson and Colin Farrell.
