In an interview with TV Guide, Jane Lynch has revealed the secret of why her character on GLEE, Sue Sylvester, is so opposed to the Glee Club and musical theater in general.

According to the interview, the background to Sue Sylvester's distaste for musical theater will be revealed in a flashback on the upcoming November 15th episode.  During the show, the glee club will be preparing for a production of 'West Side Story'. It is then that Sylvester reveals that at one time, she too had Broadway dreams of her own.

The episode will then flashback to a time when Sue was a 16 year- old belter in high school, who was performing the title song from the musical 'Oklahoma'.  Unfortunately for Sylvester, her dreams were quickly crushed when a cruel critic gave her a negative review. "Her little heart was broken," Lynch says in the interview. "Will tells Sue, 'Poor little Susie Sylvester was told she wasn't good, and now she's got to punish the world.' Like a lot of angry people out there, Sue's a wannabe."

Playing the role of the young Sue will be 19 year old Colby Minifie.  In addition to the Sylvester storyline, the episode will also include the election for the school's class president, which will happen concurrently with Sue's run for Congress.
