Oprah Winfrey travels to Atlanta for an intimate interview with Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Usher Raymond IV who speaks publicly for the first time -- and according to Usher the last time -- regarding the custody battle over his two boys and what caused his break down in court. Winfrey's exclusive interview with Usher will air on "Oprah's Next Chapter" this Sunday, September 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.
In addition to his thoughts on being granted primary custody of his two boys, Usher candidly addresses infidelity rumors and what really happened the night he walked off stage in Berlin and felt he may never perform again. Later, Winfrey speaks with Usher's mother Jonetta Patton, who has remained silent throughout the custody battle, as Patton answers why she chose not to attend her son's wedding and the reason behind their reported rift.
Usher is a multi-platinum-selling and seven time Grammy Award-winning artist. Usher recently released his seventh studio album "Looking 4 Myself" (RCA) which debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart and is his fourth consecutive studio album to enter at the top of the chart. Usher has been ranked by the RIAA as one of the best-selling artists in American music history, having sold over 44 million albums worldwide and was named the number one Hot 100 artist of the 2000s decade. Billboard named him the second most successful artist of the 2000s decade, with his career-propelling 2004 album "Confessions" being ranked as the top solo album of the 2000s decade. Usher has attained nine Hot 100 number-one hits (all as a lead artist) and 18 Hot 100 top-ten singles.
