Olympic Gold Medalists Ted Ligety, Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela  Shiffrin Highlight NBC Sports' Live Alpine Skiing Coverage  Image

NBC Sports will showcase the top American alpine skiers in preparation for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics this weekend, as Ted Ligety leads the American contingent in the FIS Birds of Prey World Cup men's event in Beaver Creek, Colo., while Olympic gold medalists Lindsey Vonn and Mikaela Shiffrin compete in the women's event in Lake Louise, Canada.

NBC, NBCSN, and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will combine to present more than 10 hours of alpine skiing coverage this weekend. NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will provide live streaming coverage of this weekend's events.


FIS BIRDS OF PREY WORLD CUP - BEAVER CREEK

Live coverage of the men's event in Beaver Creek begins tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN with the Super-G. Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present live coverage of the downhill on Saturday at 12:55 p.m. ET, which will also air on NBC on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will stream the first run of the giant slalom on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET, followed by Run 2 on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. NBC will air same-day coverage of the giant slalom on Sunday at 5 p.m. ET.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety is expected to compete in the Super-G and giant slalom. Travis Ganong, who finished fifth in downhill in Sochi and won a silver medal in the downhill at the 2015 World Championships in Beaver Creek, is expected to compete in the Super-G and downhill. Three-time Olympian Steven Nyman, who has been rehabbing from a knee injury suffered in Germany earlier this year, could return this weekend at Beaver Creek.

Dan Hicks will call the Birds of Prey from Beaver Creek, joined by analysts Bode Miller, the most decorated skier in U.S. Olympic history, former World Cup skier Steve Porino, and reporter Carolyn Manno.

FIS WOMEN'S ALPINE SKIING WORLD CUP - LAKE LOUISE

NBCSN will provide live coverage of the women's downhill tomorrow and Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET. Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will have live coverage of the Super-G on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and NBCSN will air encore presentations of these events. Details can be found in the below grid.

Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn has won 18 career World Cup races in Lake Louise, 10 more than anyone else in history, and is expected to compete in both events, which mark the first speed races of the women's season. Vonn, whose 77 World Cup wins are more than any other skier in women's alpine history, is pursuing Ingemar Stenmark's all-time record of 86 World Cup wins. 2014 Olympic slalom gold medalist and reigning overall World Cup champion Mikaela Shiffrin is also expected to compete.

Steve Schlanger (play-by-play) calls the action alongside analyst and four-time Olympian AJ Kitt (analyst).
