FIS ALPINE SKIING WORLD CUP
COVERAGE BEGINS FRIDAY AT 12:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
2010 Olympic downhill gold medalist Lindsey Vonn and 2014 Olympic slalom gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin are expected to highlight coverage of the first women's speed events of the year this weekend in Lake Louise, Alberta. Vonn has won 18 career World Cup races in Lake Louise, 10 more than anyone else in history. She is expected to compete in both the downhill and Super-G.
The men's alpine skiing season continues with the Birds of Prey from Beaver Creek, Colo. Men's skiers will compete in both technical and speed events throughout the weekend, highlighted by two-time Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety, who is expected to compete in the Super-G and giant slalom. Travis Ganong, who finished fifth in downhill in Sochi, is expected to compete in the speed events (Super-G, downhill). The international field will be highlighted by Norwegians Aksel Lund Svindal, Alexander Aamodt Kilde and Kjetil Jansrud, who all finished in the top-six in both speed events in Lake Louise this weekend.
Dan Hicks will call the Birds of Prey from Beaver Creek, joined by analysts Bode Miller, the most decorated skier in U.S. Olympic history, former World Cup skier Steve Porino and reporter Carolyn Manno.
Steve Schlanger calls the action from Lake Louise, Alberta, alongside four-time Olympian A.J. Kitt.
