Telemundo announced today the recipients of three special awards to be bestowed at the upcoming 6th annual PREMIOS TU MUNDO (Your World Awards). Leading tropical music female singer Olga Tañon will be honored with the "Jenni Rivera Legacy" award, renowned TV host Maria Celeste Arraras will be accepting the "Estrella de Tu Mundo" (Star of Your World) award, and iconic pop singer Miguel Bose will receive the "El Poder en Ti" (The Power In You) award. "Premios Tu Mundo" will broadcast live on Telemundo, Thursday August 24, 2017 at 8pm/7c from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Both, the awards ceremony and the lead-in one-hour pre-show special "Alfombra de Premios Tu Mundo" will also air simultaneously on Universo, the fastest growing Spanish-language entertainment cable network in the U.S., and in 24 countries throughout the Americas on Telemundo Internacional. Olga Tañon has a proven record of exceptional financial generosity and charitable responsibility and has demonstrated the dedication, innovation and vision to help others that are in serious need. Olga Tañon has been a trendsetting force in Latin music entertaining audiences for over twenty-five years with her unmistakable voice, electrifying stage performances and catalog of hit songs. The iconic Puerto Rican superstar singer-songwriter has sold millions of albums worldwide, charted an incredible thirty-eight singles on Billboard Hot Latin Songs, and holds the record for most top 10 hits (27) for a female artist on the Billboard Tropical Airplay chart. María Celeste has been profiled in numerous articles on a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, and the Miami Herald. "El Poder en Ti" (The Power In You) is an award that honors artists who use the unlimited power of their fame for good, through their art and generosity; artists who are willing to create, give and be an example, a Super Hero not only in the music industry but especially in the community. This artist carries a history of humanitarian endeavors, committing their time and resources to numerous causes at a local, national and international level.
This year, this award will be given to Miguel Bose, whose constant philanthropic work has extended throughout the world.
Miguel Bose founded and serves as the Honorary President of Fundacion Patrimonio Indigena MX, a non-profit organization that works to contribute to the wellbeing of indigenous communities in Mexico, strengthening their social and economic development, while respecting their rights and culture. The organization has launched 10 homes for indigenous children, that provide a school education in addition to extracurricular activities and workshops that strengthen their life skills. Last year, alongside Juanes and Paz Sin Fronteras, Miguel Bose contributed to the United Nations Declaration on the Right to Peace, which states that "everyone has the right to enjoy peace." In addition, his Gala SIDA fundraising event in Spain raised a record-setting million euros to benefit AIDS research via the Fight Aids Foundation. He was also named Honorary Park Ranger for National Geographic Society's Pristine Seas project and MarViva's Marine Corridor project. Miguel Bose has also partnered with the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation to fund a full $200,000 scholarship to a Berklee College of Music student pursuing a career in Latin music.

Hosted by Carmen Villalobos, Daniel Sarcos and Fernanda Castillo, the 2017 edition of "Premios Tu Mundo" will honor artists in 20 competing categories, in addition to the three special awards and the "Favorito de la Noche" award, which is awarded to the celebrity who receives the most tweets from viewers on the evening of the awards show. Performers to the show include: Christian Nodal, CNCO, Gerardo Ortiz, Jencarlos, Les Twins, Miguel Bose, Nacho, Olga Tañon, Ozuna, Pepe Aguilar and Angela Aguilar, and Yandel.
