The first season of a new comic web series, Our Cultural Center, is currently Being produced in CHICAGO and slated for release on October 21st. MartinJon Productions is using the arts, traditionally an entertainment taboo, as the central theme to this character driven comic series. The series takes place in a fictitious nonprofit art center in which the Founder lost its primary funder and has reluctantly been forced to partner with her ex-husband, a profit driven lawyer, to keep the center running. Producer MartinJon has worked within the Chicago art scene for 20 years and this series is committed to featuring local arts within 30% of its episodes.

Partnering with the Hyde Park art center, where the series is shot, the creators are engaging the local arts community. Working with writers and artists with the thought of helping both expose audiences to the great creatives we have in Chicago as well as exposing these creative producers to new media options.

Our Cultural Center will roll out a robust release starting on October 21st, releasing an episode every other day for three weeks and then moving to a weekly schedule with new episodes every Friday.
