ONE World Sports, America's Network for Global Sports, announced today the premiere of the Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA) Games, a three-day TRACK AND FIELD event featuring world-class, aspiring juniors in the Caribbean.
Live coverage of the CARIFTA Games begins Saturday, March 26, from 2:30-7:20 PM ET and continues Sunday, March 27, from 3:30-8:45 PM ET and concludes on Monday, March 28, from 3:30-7:45 PM ET.
The CARIFTA Games were first held in 1972 and consists of TRACK AND FIELD events including sprint races, hurdles, middle distance track events, jumping and throwing events and relays. The Games feature two categories of participants - under 17 and under 20 - and is considered one of the best development meets in world athletics. Many of the competitors have advanced to higher competition including World Record holders Usain Bolt, Darrel Brown and World Olympic Champions Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica, Kim Collins of St. Kitts-Nevis and Pauline Davis-Thompson of the Bahamas, Alleyne Francique of Grenada and Obadele Thompson of Barbados.
The CARIFTA Games are the first TRACK AND FIELD event broadcast on ONE World Sports.
