On this week's episode of ONCE UPON A TIME, Elsa's past began to unfold with the help of the town's newest Snow Queen. To make matters more complicated for poor Robin Hood, the Snow Queen cast a spell on his wife, Marion, causing her to slowly freeze to death. Regina stalls the curse temporarily by removing Marion's heart so the ice cannot reach it, which will buy everyone time to find a way to break the curse.

In a flashback to the Enchanted Forest, we gained a little more insight on how Elsa became trapped in the urn in Rumpel's shop. Hans originally plotted to seize the throne of Arendalle by imprisoning Elsa in the enchanted urn, but Kristoff overheard his intentions and told Elsa of his treachery. Kristoff and Elsa tracked down the urn and almost got away safely, but Hans and his brothers halted them. But when Hans attempts to trap Elsa inside the urn, the Snow Queen emerged out of it! The Snow Queen froze Hans, giving Kristoff and Elsa the opportunity to escape.

Later on, we learned that the Snow Queen is actually Elsa's aunt, or so she claims. This would explain how where Elsa's power came from, and Elsa looked relieved to discover she wasn't the only one with magic in her bloodline. But it's very hard to trust the Snow Queen, especially since she is causing a lot of trouble in Storybrooke.

In fact, when Elsa met the Snow Queen in Storybrooke, she had no memory of her. The Snow Queen assures her that the Rock Trolls took away some of her memories, but did not really explain why. But, she did explain how Elsa was imprisoned in the urn in the first place; apparently, Anna trapped Elsa in the urn because she was afraid of her. That definitely does NOT sound like Anna, so I don't buy anything the Snow Queen is selling. And to top it off, the Snow Queen seems to be involved with Rumpelstiltskin, and Rumpel typically has an extensive knowledge of evil villains. I think it's safe to say that the Snow Queen is our official season 4 villain! (But then again, I still don't trust Bo Peep!)

There was some great character development for Regina this week. Even though just two episodes ago she was plotting to kill Marion, tonight we saw Regina doing all she could to save her. And this is the woman who stole Regina's man! Our Evil Queen has come such a long way, and I'm going to credit Henry for her sense of morality. Henry's belief in Regina brings out the best in her, and I believe gaining his support on 'Operation Mongoose' really boosted her confidence in herself. I'm always rooting for Regina, so it was refreshing to see her grow a bit this episode.

On the topic of Regina, I'm convinced Marion's curse could not be broken with true love's kiss because Robin is actually Regina's true love. Robin hinted towards that theory himself, which solidified my opinion! With that said, I don't think Robin is going to leave his wife for Regina. Unless...could the author of the 'Once Upon a Time' book write Regina's happy ending to include Robin some how? Here's to hoping, because I'm dying see this couple together by the end of the season!

Speaking of couples, how great is it to see Emma and Hook together? Their scene on the street was one of my favorites tonight, mostly because Emma brought up a few things I had never realized before- every man Emma has ever been with is currently dead. Who could blame her for being cautious with Hook? But I've got faith in Hook. After all, he's a pirate, and he knows how to survive!

I've really been loving the father-daughter bonding between Emma and David this season as well. It's nice to see David finally have a chance to 'parent' her in a way. Plus, having two sheriffs has really been paying off with all of these ice/snow queens running around Storybrooke. Speaking of parents, I was very happy that Snow's attachment to baby Neal was addressed this episode. I couldn't have been the only one who noticed Snow clinging to the baby in every scene this season, particularly in situations where she could have put the baby down or at least passed him along to David (like the town hall scene!). I'm relieved that Dr. Hopper gave Snow a bit of a pep talk, but her worry is understandable- after all, she was robbed of the chance to properly mother Emma.

To quote Rumpelstiltskin, it's 'getting quite frosty' in Storybrooke! What are the Snow Queen's true motives? Did Anna really trap Elsa in the magical urn? Will Regina and Robin EVER get together? Keep tuning in to ONCE UPON A TIME, 8pm EST Sundays on ABC!
