The PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS, the only major awards show where fans determine the nominees and winners across categories of movies, music and television, has announced that voting to determine the nominees is now officially open at www.PeoplesChoice.com. Fans can vote to ensure their favorites are nominated across 54 categories, including "Favorite Movie," "Favorite TV Show" and "Favorite Breakout Artist," through Thursday, Oct. 30 (11:59 PM, ET/8:59 PM, PT).
The top five selected in each category will become the official nominees and will be announced during the annual PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS Press Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 4 (9:00 AM, PT) at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. Fans have the option to write in their favorites not included among the provided candidates.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2015 will be broadcast LIVE from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT), on the CBS Television Network.
In People's Choice tradition, last September fans were given the opportunity to choose brand-new categories for the 2015 show. The fans voted to add "Favorite TV Character We Miss Most," "Favorite Dramedy" and "Favorite Country Group" to the list of official categories. "Favorite TV Icon" was also added for the first time, honoring TV personalities who have graced the small screen for more than 25 years.
This year, the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS welcomes back Walgreens as its official retail partner. Once again, Walgreens will present the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Humanitarian," which reflects the company's goal to champion everyone's right to be happy and healthy. The award, previously given to Sandra Bullock in 2013 and Jennifer Hudson in 2014, will be presented during the live broadcast.
Tickets to the awards show are now available for fans to purchase through AXS.com. Media outlets can apply for credentials to cover the People's Choice Awards at http://credentials.peopleschoice.com.
ABOUT PEOPLE'S CHOICE
Now in its 41st year, the People's Choice Awards is the only major awards show voted on entirely by the public for fan favorites in movies, music and television. The People's Choice official website at www.PeoplesChoice.com houses the voting platform where fans determine the categories, nominees and winners for the annual awards show. Every year, potential nominees are determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales and PeoplesChoice.com data, then vetted through EPoll Market Research. Fred Nelson is the President of People's Choice. The awards show, and digital, mobile and social extensions of the brand are owned by Procter & Gamble, and produced by United Artist Media Group (UAMG) a joint venture among MGM, Mark Burnett, Roma Downey and Hearst Corporation.
