In the series finale of the long-running Nickelodeon sitcom iCARLY airing tonight, fans will finally get a first look at Carly's dad, Colonel Shay. Throughout the five-seasons of the show, the fictional character has been absent due to being stationed overseas on military assignment.

On the final hour-long finale, Colonel Shay will be featured as he accompanies his daughter to a special military event. In the episode, “Spencer offers to take Carly to the Air Force father-daughter dance when their dad, Colonel Shay, isn’t able to accompany her because of his overseas deployment. When Spencer gets sick and can’t take her, Freddie (Nathan Kress) and Gibby (Noah Munck) try to cheer Carly up by offering to go with her. Colonel Shay surprises everyone when he arrives just in time to take Carly to the dance.”

iCarly creator and executive producer Dan Schneider said in a press release on the episode, “I’m insanely proud to have created a TV show that’s loved by so many people around the world, and I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with this remarkably talented cast for the past five years,” Dan Schneider, iCarly creator and executive producer, said in a press release. “For the finale, I’ve always known that I wanted to bring Carly’s dad home, so I could wrap up the series in a way that will be exciting for all iCarly fans.”

The iCarly series finale, titled “iGoodbye,” will air tonight, Friday, Nov. 23, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
