Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally, the real life husband-and-wife duo who play ex-spouses on NBC's "Parks and Recreation," have joined the cast of Lionsgate's comedy "Gay Dude" along with Gary Cole and Brian Geraghty, according to reports from Variety.
Nicholas Braun and Hunter Cope are set to star as Michael and Matty, best friends who promise to get each other laid for the first time before their senior prom. Their quest takes an unexpected twist when Matty informs Michael that he's gay. Offerman will play Braun's supportive father. Cole will play Cope's conservative father. Mullally will play Cope's mother, while Geraghty will play his live-at-home older brother. Dakota Johnson ("The Social Network"), Dreama Walker ("The Sitter") and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland will co-star in the film, set to be directed by Chris Nelson. The script is by Parks and Recreation's Alan Yang.As a vocalist, her credits include performances at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, The Seattle Symphony (with her band Supreme Music Program), and Los Angeles' Disney Concert Hall (soloist). She and her band, Supreme Music Program, recently released their third CD, Free Again!
Geraghty will be in Jamie Linden's upcoming "Ten Year," which debuts at the Toronto Film Festival.
