THAT REMINDS ME..., a new web series about the OUTRAGEOUS things that "just happen" when you're with your family, premieres October 6 at 9 pm/8 pm CST, on www.thatremindsmetheseries.com powered by Wix.
The show is a cross between
MODERN FAMILY and
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT with a healthy dose of classic sitcom. That Reminds Me... aims to attract baby boomers to the web to watch a show that their millennial kids will love too!
Series partner, Wix.com, one of the world's leading drag-and-drop website editors, will host the New York City Red Carpet Premiere of That Reminds Me... on Tuesday, October 6th. The pilot episode will officially launch live online from Wix Lounge New York at 9 pm/8 pm CST.
The seven episode series was hatched in the creative minds of Executive Producers Jenny Paul and Chelsea Roach and Co-Executive Producers Monica Cangero and Marla Pachter.
Watch a sneak peek below:
The ensemble cast is led by Jenny Paul as Janie, the somewhat rational older sister; Chelsea Roach as Kelsey, the off-the-wall younger sister; and Monica Cangero as Elaine, the girls' recently widowed mother.
The extended members of this functionally dysfunctional family include veteran actor Greg Mullavey as Grandpa Kelsey. Mullavey is best known for his lead role in Norman Lear's hit TV series Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. Younger audiences recognize him as Grandfather Shay in Nickelodeon's iCarly.
Greg Carter, a veteran of New York's cabaret and theatre scene plays Janie's biological dad, Carter, and Steven Hauck plays Carter's partner and Janie's other dad, Martin. Hauck is known to fans for his film, television and theater roles (King Lear with Paul Sorvino, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt).
Marla Pachter, the series creator and head writer, has previously created several web series sitcoms including "FYE", and "Lemons" and has also written for a number of media outlets including Glamour, Yahoo and Today.
That Reminds Me...is directed by Wendy Seyb (director/choreographer), whose vibrant
work includes choreographing the Rainforest Benefit Concert at Carnegie Hall featuring Sting, Kevin Spacey and James Taylor, and The Pee Wee Herman Show (Broadway/HBO), Off-Broadway's The Toxic Avenger and Murder for Two, and various shows with Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon.
