Made In August, Shiva Kalaiselvan, and Joe Bandelli (Hell House LLC Franchise) are proud to announce the world premiere of a new web series, "Tuesday Nights." Written by five award-winning playwrights, "Tuesday Nights" is directed by Joe Bandelli and stars Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tony nominee Michelle Wilson, Stephen Payne and more. All six episodes will be released January 8, 2019 on www.Tuesday-Nights.com.
On a Tuesday morning in New York City, a woman signs her DIVORCE papers with an expensive pen and a bottle of tequila. Then, the day begins.
"Tuesday Nights" takes place over 24-hours, through the eyes of one woman, portrayed by five.
"From the beginning, it was incredibly important to us that 'Tuesday Nights' portrayed a New York City that felt real. We wanted the series and the characters it portrayed to be inclusive, diverse and above all, honest," said creator Shiva Kalaiselvan. "Thanks to our incredible writers - who just happen to be some of the best playwrights working today - and our extraordinary cast and director, I believe we've done just that. We're so thrilled to show 'Tuesday Nights' to the world."
"When I was first introduced to the series, I was blown away. What Shiva had created was something that was so specific and topical," said director Joe Bandelli. "It was outside of my usual comedy and horror world but I had to be involved because it spoke to a bigger, diverse world that we are all a part of. We wanted real, gritty, New York Women and could not be happier with the extremely talented and wonderful cast and crew that helped us bring this to life. I hope everyone enjoys what we've created."
"Tuesday Nights" is written by Celine Song (Endlings), Leah Nanako-Winkler (Kentucky, God Said This), Jeremy Tiang (State of Emergency: A Novel), Harrison David Rivers (The Bandaged Place, recent winner of the 2018 RELENTLESS Award), and Laura Zlatos (Happily After Ever).
The cast includes Daphne Rubin-Vega (RENT, Anne in the Tropics), David Fierro ("The Knick," "Red Oaks"), Julia Joyce-Barry (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Stephen Payne (Straight White Men), Rachel Lu (Turando), Stephen Lin ("Master of None"), Michelle Wilson (Sweat), Victor Williams ("The Affair," "King of Queens"), Shiva Kalaiselvan ("Gotham," "The Originals"), and Dietrich Teschner ("Legends & Lies," "TURN").
All six episodes of "Tuesday Nights" will premiere on January 8 at 8pm EST, exclusively on www.Tuesday-Nights.com.
