Self-confessed canine addict Paul O'Grady is delighted to be back for a brand new series of this award-winning, heart-warming and at times heart-breaking show, exploring the unbreakable bond between man and dog. In each of the eight episodes Paul brings us stories guaranteed to lead to tears of sadness as well as tears of joy and laughter, as we meet more of Battersea's canine residents looking for love, care and a new home.
In episode one we meet a litter of Dalmatian pups, a supersized Shar Pei cross who needs to get down to the gym and a gorgeous Yorkie with a serious body odour problem.
The tiny Yorkie is brought into Lost and Found at Battersea, after being discovered wandering around Battersea Park. She is named Wilma by the staff and is completely
INFESTED with fleas, scratching so much that her fur has fallen out. Paul takes Wilma for a soothing bath and despite her current unbearable aroma, he is smitten: "She's the business this dog, you'd think she'd keep away after what she's been through, but she's so friendly and so loving." Freshly bathed, pampered and shown a lot of love, Wilma is ready for a nice walk in the sunshine and Paul is happy to oblige. As soon as her hair grows back, she'll be ready for a new home, assuming Paul can bear to let her go, of course.
Meanwhile, chunky four-year-old Shar Pei cross Max is tipping the scales at almost double his recommended weight. Paul squeezes into his kennel to see if he can help with the much-needed weight loss. Max has been chewing on his own paw through boredom. Always up for a challenge, Paul takes him outdoors for some exercise but soon realises he's taken on more than he bargained for.
