New NCIS Spin-Off In the Works at CBS

Deadline reports that the CBS network is currently in the planning stages of adding another spin-off of their hit drama series NCIS. According to the report, the series will center on "a mobile team of agents who live and work together as they travel across the U.S. solving crimes." The new project is set to launch as a two-part episode of the network's NCIS: LA later this season.

Shane Brennan, executive producer on both NCIS and NCIS: LA, is set to pen the project and serve as producer as well. The long-running drama series NCIS and NCIS: LA have been ratings hits for CBS and are among the most-watched series on network television.

With liberal doses of humor, NCIS focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team forced to work together in high-stress situations. The series stars Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo.
