New Documentary Explores Mental Health & Legendary Brooklyn Venue Image

Inspire the Night: House of Yes, the latest episode from Season 3 of the Inspire the Night docuseries drops today on Red BULL TV. The episode, available to stream on-demand, profiles the iconic performance-fueled night club and creative venue in Brooklyn and their founders Kae Burke and Anya Sapozhnikova.

In the episode, Kae and Anya discuss the daily mental grind of curating over 300 unique events per year, and celebrate the people whose lives have changed through their experiences at the venue. The episode dives deep into Anya's struggle with bipolar disorder - a disorder that threatens many creatives as they pour themselves into their jobs and nothing else - a story that is only just beginning to have mainstream support and understanding.

This episode is about much more than just the club or an amazing party; it dives deep into Anya's struggle with bipolar disorder - a struggle that threatens many creatives as they pour themselves into their jobs with little time for relief or reflection. It's a story that is only beginning to have mainstream support and understanding. Weaving together Anya's tale of learning and acceptance of her disorder, with stories of OUTSIDERS who found their true home within House of Yes, the doc uncovers how nightlife creators do more than just build their dream places to party - they build dreams for whole new communities to live in.

Take a sneak peek here:

"I don't know what it's like to be bipolar. But I know what it's like to love someone who is," says Kae midway through the episode, perfectly capturing the spirit of empathy and inclusivity that runs through House of Yes. "A community like ours is about challenging each other, elevating each other, and celebrating each other. Because that's what we do. And it extends outside the walls of the venue."

House of Yes prominently features the work of visual artist/director Sam Cannon, who uses her singular blend of film, digital animation, and still images to visually illustrate the internal swirl of emotions Anya and Kae experienced throughout their struggle to find balance.

After focusing on cities and events for the first two seasons, respectively, Inspire The Night's third season exposes the personal stories of the founders and staff of these inspirational parties. The debut episode featured Brazil's BATEKOO, while upcoming episodes will feature stories from Los Angeles' GIRLSCHOOL, Miami's Link Miami Rebels and Shanghai's NÜSHÙ Workshop.
