But how long can Mena keep up this double life? If her secret gets out, her family will be shocked and embarrassed. Will she lose her job? Will she have to give up the one thing that has re-connected her to herself? Find out in this truly incredible story of acceptance, culture, family, community, diversity, equality & love that is TARAB.

This film came about when a New York based actress and belly-dancer, Maria Moussa - Michaels noticed the lack of strong roles for women, especially those of diverse ethnicities, in film and TV - even in the Indie film community. She approached Joyce Lao, a fellow actress who is also passionate about representing diversity in Film, TV and theater. Together, they planned to create a film that would represent diversity and more women behind-the-scenes and on-camera. The film stars several veteran actors such as Karen Lynn Gorney who played Stephanie Mangano alongside John Travolta's of the famous disco classic, Saturday Night Fever. Allen Enlow, who is known for his role as Dr. Harry Winer from the hit show, "The Sopranos" and Sami Fahmi, a well-known Egyptian actor among others. The cast also include a lot of talented NY based actors namely Tamir, Anton Obeid, John Freda, Messeret Stromann, Pete Mc Namara, Eli Walker, Jasmin Malave, Bill Beydoun, Leslie Frye, Catherine Taormina, Victoria Vance, Sophia Mahmoud, Hamza Zaman, Buali Shah, Ruba Mansouri and Mushin Kahn.
