The highly anticipated Netflix reboot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch now has a title and an official first look at star Kiernan Shipka.
Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared details on Wednesday, tweeting, "It's official! Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is our title! Something wicked this way comes." The reveal came along with a shot of Shipka in costume as the titular character (previously played by Melissa Joan Hart in the '90s sitcom).
The title isn't a shock considering the series is based on the Archie Comics graphic novel The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Hailing from Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow), the dark coming-of-age reboot will chronicle the origin and adventures of the half-witch, half-mortal in the vein of ROSEMARY'S BABY and The Exorcist.
The series has already been ordered for two seasons, and also stars Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, and a new cat as SALEM Saberhagen.
Kiernan Shipka is known for playing Sally Draper on the AMC series Mad Men and voicing Jinora in the Avatar: The Last Airbender spin-off, The Legend of Korra. She is slated to appear as Sabrina Spellman on Netflix's upcoming series based on the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic series.
Melissa Joan Hart played the character of Sabrina for seven seasons on Sabrina The Teenage Witch. The series' first four seasons aired on ABC from September 27, 1996, to May 5, 2000; the final three seasons ran on The WB from September 22, 2000, to April 24, 2003.
