Netflix will premiere Tig Notaro's revealing and intimate original documentary TIG on July 17th. The film will also be the opening night film of OUTFEST in Los Angeles on July 9

About the film:

"Good evening. Hello. I have cancer." Comedian Tig Notaro used those words to open her stand-up set at Largo in Los Angeles in August 2012. Defiantly funny in the face of devastating news, Tig's now legendary performance came at the end of a tumultuous four-month period that included both the loss of her mother and her subsequent breast cancer diagnosis.

"Tig" is about how she found herself on that stage in that moment, and what happened next. Intimate, funny and illuminating, the film offers a revealing look at how Tig put her life together just at the moment it all seemed to fall apart. Proving that laughter may very well be the best medicine, the film is an unflinching look at a woman determined to find humor, life and love in the places we all fear the most.

"Tig" is from executive producers Tig Notaro, Leah Holzer, Hunter Seidman and Tim Foley and co-directors Kristina Goolsby and Ashley York.
